ABOUT

Alexis McCarthy is an American artist best known for her two-dimensional magazine collages composed of hundreds of hand-cut shapes of macro imagery; along with her large scale interactive sensory art installations; that work with your five senses: touch, smell, sight, sound, taste and even movement-play. 

Alexis' work is displayed and shown throughout the world at festivals, luxury homes and hotels, restaurants and clubs, spas, retail stores and businesses, and commissioned pieces in, and outside, the Gallatin Valley.

 

Her work is derived from interest in travel, nature, plants, animals, music, dance, food and drink, and vintage inspiration. Alexis has a background in metal-smithing, flameworking with borosilicate glass, painting, interior design, and photography.

Alexis' pole dancing and burlesque studio closed in 2022 but she still spends the majority of her time doing aerial and feather fans. By day, she is hunting agates, mushrooms and sheds with her dog, Little Fawn, and by night she is a Sous Chef.
